be available for all professional and administrative functions
relating to NMC. |

The primary purpose of material management department is purchasing and maintaining
the availability of Pharmaceutical products, medical and non-medical supplies and
equipments. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
Pharmaceutical products, medical and non-medical equipments which are approved for
routine use should be purchased, stored, and available in sufficient quantities
to meet the needs of ambulatory care and hospitalized patients. Any products not
approved for routine use, but necessary to meet the needs of specific patients or
categories of patients should be obtained in response to orders according to established
policies and procedures. Criteria for selecting manufacturers and suppliers or contracting
with group purchasing organizations should be established by the material management
to ensure the quality and best price of drug products. |

All stocks of Pharmaceutical products, medical and non-medical supplies and equipments
whether located within or outside the store area should be inspected routinely and
managed by material management staff to ensure the absence of outdated, unusable,
recalled, or mislabeled products. Storage conditions used to be monitored to ensure
compliance with environmental requirements. |

Pharmaceutical, Medical and non-medical warehouses are existing under proper conditions of sanitation, temperature, light, moisture, ventilation, segregation, and security throughout the NMC area; Adequate refrigeration and freezer capacity also available within the secure NMC areas. Automated dispensing systems and automated storage and distribution devices are available to support the managers of the warehouses for evalutation, selection, use, calibration and monitoring, their products. The maintenance and calibration as required by applicable standards, laws, and regulations should be ongoing and documented. |
